About Us
VeraPulse Media is an independent digital publication devoted to original fiction about ordinary people, everyday places, and the small situations that can become unexpectedly complicated.
Our stories often begin with something simple: a broken elevator, a misplaced suitcase, a difficult shift at work, a neighborhood disagreement, a mistake, a routine that stops working, or a conversation that takes an unexpected direction.
We are interested in the details that usually go unnoticed — the habits people develop, the compromises they make, the frustrations they rarely explain, and the practical ways they deal with one another.
What We Publish
VeraPulse Media publishes original fictional stories written and edited for this website.
Our stories are not news reports, journalism, or accounts presented as verified real-world events. Characters, dialogue, situations, timelines, and other narrative elements may be invented, adapted, combined, or altered for storytelling purposes.
Some stories may begin with an ordinary observation, memory, place, profession, conversation, or experience from everyday life. From there, the narrative is developed as fiction. When an author’s or editor’s note appears with a story, it may provide additional context about the observation or idea that prompted it.
The aim is not to make fiction appear factual. It is to write believable fiction grounded in recognizable human behavior and everyday life.
How We Approach Our Stories
We prefer specific details to exaggerated drama.
That means our stories do not need extraordinary heroes, perfect endings, or convenient twists. A disagreement may remain partly unresolved. A person may make the wrong decision for understandable reasons. A small improvement may matter more than a dramatic transformation.
We pay particular attention to setting, dialogue, work, routines, objects, and the practical details of how people actually move through their day.
Before publication, stories are reviewed and edited for clarity, coherence, readability, and consistency. We also revise material that feels repetitive, unnecessarily sensational, or disconnected from the rest of the narrative.
Fiction and Real Life
Because our fiction is grounded in everyday situations, readers may occasionally recognize a profession, type of place, habit, or circumstance that resembles something from real life.
Unless a story explicitly states otherwise, such resemblance should not be understood as reporting about a particular person or event.
VeraPulse Media does not present fictional narratives as factual reporting.
Why VeraPulse Media Exists
There is plenty of room online for the spectacular. We are more interested in what happens before and after it — and sometimes in days when nothing spectacular happens at all.
A chair that was never returned. A nine-minute traffic problem. A bakery opening before sunrise. Neighbors dealing with a broken elevator. A teacher noticing something he had previously misunderstood.
These situations are small enough to be overlooked, but large enough to reveal how people work, argue, adapt, misunderstand one another, and occasionally change their minds.
That is the territory VeraPulse Media is interested in exploring.
Our Readers
VeraPulse Media is for readers who enjoy character-driven fiction, realistic dialogue, recognizable settings, and stories that do not need to manufacture a lesson at the end.
We want each story to offer a reason to stay with it: a particular situation, a distinct set of characters, and details that belong to that story rather than to a formula.
